The Abyssinian cat is one of the oldest breed. More than two thousand years ago, it was bred by the efforts of breeders in the territory of modern Ethiopia, which at that time was called Abyssinia.
As you know, it was cats in Egyptian culture that were the animal talisman, reflecting the wisdom and mystery of the dominant religion at that time. It is likely that it was the "Abyssinians" who accompanied important persons of those times. Then only pharaohs and members of the royal family were allowed to keep them.
This breed is miniature, despite the fact that outwardly it strongly resembles its large feline ancestors. So, the maximum weight of this animal varies from 4 to 6 kilograms. Due to such a small mass, especially favorite external "effects" of these animals arise: grace, thinness, majesty. Becoming this animal really unconsciously sends us back to the time of the pharaohs, since, unlike cats of other breeds, the "Abyssinians" can hardly be called round and soft. On the contrary, they are characterized by: constant posture, increased flexibility, muscular body, expressiveness and smoothness of movements.
The head of a cat belonging to this breed has a wedge-shaped shape. The ears are spread out and wide, located at a great distance from each other. There is also a long, and, in comparison with other cats, rather thin neck.
The eyes of the "Abyssinian" are characterized by a large size, have an almond-shaped, very expressive shape.
The paws of the representatives of this breed are thin, shaped like an oval. The tail is thickened at the base, and very thin at the tip.
As for the wool, in kittens, it may even be fluffy, however, over time, the hairline becomes thinner, but nevertheless grows thickly. No, the cat does not go bald, but rather quickly sheds "baby fluff".
